“Journey” from
Place to Place During Lent

Friends and acquaintances of Zion Lutheran Church are cordially invited to join the congregation for a light “soup and sandwich” supper at 6:00 PM on each Wednesday evening during Lent. A brief Service of Lenten Vespers will follow each supper at 7:00 PM. Lenten meditations will focus on the “Places of Holy Week,” the places where activities occurred during Jesus’ last earthly week before His crucifixion.

with His Disciples”

“And Jesus began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again” [Mark 8:31, NKJV].

Silverhill artist, Aleda Midgarden, in her painting of “Christ with His Disciples” reminds us to gather around Christ in this time of Lent and look to the cross. The painting beautifies the east side of Silverhill’s Zion Lutheran Church nave. Click to enlarge.

Beginning with Ash Wednesday, March 1, Pastor Dave will journey with the congregation through Jesus’ last earthly activities the week before His crucifixion. The first stop in the journey will be “Priestly Work Spaces.”
