Good Health
Begins with Right Thinking!

"It takes thoughts to get things," he said. "To get things it starts with how we think. Unless we talk it through, unless we hold on to those thoughts, unless we muddle through with those thoughts, what we want doesn’t happen what’s the sense of it. We have to think out of the box we have to think intentionally. In terms of healers and their patients, both have to agree that they want healing. The whole process is independent of the kind of doctor or the place of healing. The process is patient-specific and both patient and doctor must agree that healing is the thought."

Dr. Greg Funk
Dr. Greg Funk discussed health and healing. The right attitude is necessary for healthy living and for healing. He spoke at the June meeting of Mens 710 at Zion Lutheran Church in Silverhill.

Dr. Greg Funk was talking about attitude and healing. He is a General Practice physician practicing in Gulf Shores. He spoke about healing attitudes at the June Men’s 710 breakfast and speaker fellowship at Zion Lutheran Church. We have conscious minds where we think, but we have a subconscious where thinking is more reaction. But think about this. There is power to help wherever there is thought, and that includes the part of us that is subconscious. Faith includes that subconscious, what we can’t feel, see, or touch. To think in healing terms, we begin by thinking healing thoughts and redirecting our thinking away from destructive and unhealthy thoughts.

Our mind is like a juke box. Our thoughts are like the various records within the box. Our conscious mind is like the selector that chooses what our mind dwells on, what it plays. When we think about guilt for our past behaviors, we get into circuitous thinking. Our mind simply cannot resolve the issue. But our mind, our vocalized thoughts, has the power to supersede the internal thought, and bring us to the next record in the box. The word, the verbalized thought, becomes the button to bring the thought into the conscious mind. If we want happiness in our lives, we need to play the good thoughts and minimize the poor ones. By articulating what is good, we limit what is bad thinking.

We can set goals in life, Funk asserts. We can think about thoughts relating to those goals that are positive, up-building, and healing. When thoughts get verbalized, they ultimately get implemented, creating a world that is thought-controlled. A happy, healthy person may very well be a person who has set healthy goals, developed wholesome thoughts relating to working on those goals, and then applying that thinking to daily positive thought-life.
