Pastor Dave is concerned that you know Jesus Christ and is happy to have you as a visitor to the website of Zion Lutheran Church in beautiful Silverhill, Alabama. Pastor Dave developed Zion's website with the help of Debbie Owen during his tenure at Zion.

     Originally from Duluth, Minnesota, he has lived in the West (Oregon) and in the Midwest (Michigan) as well as Minnesota. He has an educational background with graduate degrees from the University of Oregon, Portland State University, and the Association Free Lutheran Theological School and Seminary in Minnesota. He is a former high school teacher, community college educator, clinical audiologist, and medical school associate professor. The Lord called him from lay ministry to full-time pastoral ministry in 1995. He retired from his Zion ministry at the end of April 2011 and is currently available for interim ministry.

     His wife Cindi simultaneously retired from Baldwin Mutual Insurance Company in Foley. They have two children. Matthew is a representative with a company providing benefit packages to employers for employees in the Minneapolis area. Michael is an Association Free Lutheran Church pastor in Brandon, MN.

     Although retired, Pastor Dave continues to encourage you to visit the fellowship at Zion Lutheran Church on a Sunday morning for Sunday School and Worship and for midweek evening Bible Study on Wednesdays. Specific times and special programming for men and women can be found HERE.
