Good Shepherd Lutheran School, initial classroom on the St. Mark's Lutheran Church campus in Elberta, was formally dedicated on Sunday, July 18, 2004.

Folks from Redeemer Lutheran, Fairhope, and Zion Lutheran, Silverhill, were on hand as well.

Pastors from Shepherd of the Bay, Lillian; St. Jude's by the Sea, Gulf Shores; St. Mark's, Elberta; and St. Paul's, Foley; officiated at the blessing of the building and presentation of the building key to the school's first teacher, Ryan Annette Fell, who accepted the school's call to serve as Good Shepherd's first teacher. She is a licensed Lutheran early childhood educator.

As many Lutherans in Central Baldwin County have been aware for some time, there has been a desire to develop a "Lutheran" alternative for Christian education. Ed and Mary Kinsey now report that a portable classroom has been installed and is being readied for its first year of operation for the School Year 2004-2005. Classes will begin in August.

The classroom facility has been allocated temporary space by St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Elberta, a site near the heart of Central Baldwin and easily accessible by anyone in Baldwin County.

Ed and Mary Kinsey invite all parents of elementary children to find out more by contacting them at darrylk@gulftel.com, or by calling
504-Christ (504-2474). They will be offering scholarship money for Lutheran children.
