Wednesday Vespers

     Thrivent will match up to $240 raised from Zion's Midweek Advent Vespers evening service offerings scheduled for the three Wednesdays before Christmas, December 6, 13, and 20. Funds will be donated to Mary's Shelter to help homeless, pregnant women in our area of Alabama and Florida.

     A spacious home located in the peaceful fields of rural Baldwin County, Ala., is the home for pregnant women who have chosen to bear their children rather than abort them. The shelter provides refuge for women from Escambia and Santa Rosa counties in Florida, as well as Mobile, Baldwin and Escambia counties in Alabama. The large house held their dedication ceremony on Feb. 5, 2006.

     Zion's Wednesday Vespers is scheduled for 7 PM and will be preceded by an Advent Soup and Sandwich Supper at 6 PM on each of these three midweek Wednesdays.      Friends and visitors are invited to join the Zion congregation in anticipating the coming of Christ each Wednesday in Advent by joining it for a light supper and the Vespers service. Zion Lutheran Church is located a block off State Highway 104 at 15875 4th Avenue at 7th Street in beautiful Silverhill.
