Prayer Request
Pastor Dave and His Brothers

     Friends at Zion,

Thank you for your prayers for my brothers Al and Gary and for me. Here is an update as of today (June 20, 2009).

Gary: He is now home as of Thursday evening. In Minnesota they have a three story home. They have modified the first floor to allow him to stay on that floor. A neighbor has put up some support railings to allow some movement on that first floor. "I can stand on my right leg now," he says, so he has some limited mobility. The plan is to allow healing for two more weeks and then re-assess more surgery. He has multiple broken bones on the left side. (He was the driver and was very injured and in the ICU for some time--four hours of surgery on admission after that accident.) Please pray for healing and for the planning period coming up in two weeks. His wife Cindy could use our prayers and encouragement.

Al: He is the last one out of the ICU. He has a broken pelvis and is under substantial back pain. He is in a rehab hospital and working on basic mobility. He is now able to sit in a chair for short periods of time. Please pray for his relief from the pain and for more mobility. Please pray also for the healing of those broken bones. His wife Shirley needs support also--pray for health and for coping skills.

Pastor Dave: I continue to heal, but it is slow. I have chronic chest pain, and will apparently have it for another two months. Please pray that the pain management strategy will work and that I can stay on schedule for getting back on a more normal track. Pray also for Cindi's encouragement during this time of husband healing. I would appreciate the Lord healing my sternum and ribs more quickly if possible.

Again, thank you for your prayers on behalf of the Johnson brothers. We are so thankful that the Lord preserved us in this head-on crash and for your help during these times of recovery.

     Friends at Zion,

Cindi and I are home as of 10:30 last night (June 2, 2009). Cindi started her new job this morning (they moved her to another department). I am home and not too functional. I hurt and I have wind problems related to my fractured sternum. I'm bruised internally, I'm sure.

I have not been on my e-mail because I'm working with mainly one hand. What a surprise from my nephew Tim's e-mail, a prayer request for the Johnson brothers in Kwala Limpur!

See "EMAIL RECEIVED" half way down the page.

Thank you for praying. Brother Al is in intensive care at St Mary's. Gary (the most banged up) is out of the ICU, but lots of breaks.

Please continue to pray for us. Pray also for our VBS. Please pray also for all those who have been impacted by this horriffic event that they may have God's peace.

Pastor Dave and his two brothers were in a car accident involving a truck near Duluth, Minnesota, on Tuesday afternoon, May 26, 2009. His brothers, Gary and Al, had numerous injuries and Pastor Dave had injuries to his chest. They are in the hospital in Duluth.

Please keep the family in your PRAYERS.
