The Floor Was Waxing Bold!
Tuesday, July 26, 2011 It has been several years since the Fellowship Hall's floors have
been waxed. It is not a simple project and it needs a commercial
answer. Charlie Canning did his usual search for quality workmanship
and discovered Eddie Taylor's "Complete Janitorial Service." Eddie
with his crew of David Taylor and Steve Rogers were busy removing
furniture, cleaning the Fellowship Hall floor, and then applying
several layers of wax. Charlie Canning and Ernie Burnett were on
hand for questions and "traffic control."

the company truck and trailer to wax the Fellowship Hall's scuffed
floors.

David Taylor (l) and Steve Rogers lay down multiple
coats of wax with mop and sweat.
|
Eddie, Steve, and David covered every spot in the large
meeting area as well as in the Sunday School and office areas.
|
We caught a sparkling floor, gleaming with two layers of
wax, but there was more to come before the Complete Janitorial
Service crew was on its way to another job.

Pastor K will formally begin leading worship on August 7. Zion is affiliated with the Association of Free Lutheran Congregations, the fourth largest organized Lutheran group in America, and worships each Sunday at 10 AM. Further information can be obtained by calling the church at 251-945-5209.

Whitney is now a teenager. She was doing a beach visit with her family.
|
Charlie Canning was involved in spearheading fund-raisers for Whitney. He posed with Whitney after worship. (In case you haven't noticed, it was dark.)
|
Whitney had a chance to have supper with Aunt Darlene Tasso.
|
Yes, the sandwich choice was one of the harder choices to make. It was one step to filling the plate and grabbing that soup.

The door seal on the double doors on the south side of our
Fellowship Hall recently failed. They are, after all, 11 years old.
Mike Drury, a St. Louis, MO, transplant to Bay Minette, AL, took our
doors off and altered the bottom of the doors to accommodate a new
kind of seal. "He was in and out in very short order," Pete
Midgarden says.

It is spring and who shows up to fix the shrubs? That's Ed
Kinsey trimming things for the coming season outside the Fellowship

With Ed doing shrubs, Mary Kinsey worked on flowers lining
the side entry to the church. Stay away from the fire ants, Mary!

operating manuals but was able to pause for a snap shot. Thanks for
the diligence, Pete.
